If you run a small or medium-sized business, charity or social enterprise across the North East – including rural areas - you can apply to Newcastle City Council for a free voucher worth up to £3,000 towards the fixed cost of getting your business connected.
The Connection Voucher will pay towards the fixed cost of getting you connected - between £100 and £3,000– you pay the on-going line rental charge and any VAT charged.
This scheme was originally targeted at Newcastle but was rolled out from 1 April 2015 to cover the whole of the North East. The pot of cash available nationally is finite so it is certainly a case of first come first served. More information about the scheme is available from the Go Digital Newcastle website.
A presentation was given by one of the potential suppliers for the Connection Voucher Scheme at the May network meeting of Rural Connect. Download a PDF copy of the presentation here.
